Planning in advance sets your session up for the most success possible.  The best equipment and production quality cannot make up for a lack of preparation.  Here are some best practices:

• Have an outline of what you'd like to get done during your time.
  • Let us know what you'd like to accomplish during your session in advance so we can help keep things moving forward and work within your allotted time.
  • It's a good idea to create a list of topics you'd like to touch on during the episode.
• Inform the studio of how many people to expect.
  • How many guests being featured?
  • How many guests coming for support?
  • Any children's accommodations required?
• Provide the studio some reference podcasts
  • This helps us determine what sort of feel you'd like to emulate
• Decide on your preferred file-sharing method
  • Cloud sharing (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.)
  • USB Drives (external hard drives, flash drives, etc.)
• Are you videoing the session?
  • Have makeup, hair, wardrobe handled before arrival
  • Will you require an active cameraman?

Take advantage of the free consultation and tour.  Please.  That 30-60 minute meeting could save you 50% or more on your recording session.  No, it doesn't discount anything - but it sets you up so that you're not going to be wasting time during your booking.  Let's set you up for success!

Upon arriving, you'll head over to the back entrance where you'll see our flock of chickens off to the side.  They're friendly, but don't get too attached.

Come on in and down the stairs where you'll see our beverage station complete with soft drinks and not-so-soft drinks available at no charge (adult beverages available only to 21+).

Tommy will greet you and provide you with a quick overview of how the process will go, and will be there to answer any and all questions you have moving forward.

The large room is designed to be comfortable.  The couch reclines, the TV swivels and has just about any streaming services you could desire.  There are video games as well as kids' toys/coloring materials for people bringing their kiddos.  Tommy's got 5 kids of his own so recording isn't the only thing in which he's an experienced pro.

Need to eat?  We're located near a number of great restaurants with quick turnaround times - and you're welcome to eat in studio.

Once it's time to "hit record", you'll get situated in whichever area of the studio you feel best suits your needs.  Once you get the signal from Tommy, you're rolling!

Don't worry about slip ups or external sounds.  We've got you covered in the post-production portion of things to make sure the product you want is the product you get.

You're welcome to stick around for editing if you've planned for that or you can leave it to Tommy and head out directly following your session.

Your files will be saved in the manner previously agreed upon and you'll be free to distribute as desired.

The bulk of the work actually occurs after the recording session is completed in most cases.  Editing out coughs & sneezes, equalizing and compressing vocals for even volume and to create a tone that doesn't fatigue the ears, adding in sound effects or music tracks - this all happens in post.

This is also when your files will be shared with you and you'll be given the opportunity to request touch ups.

Once your session recordings have been finalized and uploaded to the agreed upon medium, you'll have a limited amount of time (agreed upon in advance) to download them - typically two weeks.  Unfortunately, data storage is costly and these file sizes are larger than you'd expect.  A single project file can be several gigabytes.

Of course, we can be flexible, so if you need more time, please just ask.  We will do what we can to work with you on a good solution for everyone involved.  If you need advice on long-term file storage options, please just ask!
